FINANCIAL DUE DILIGENCE


The proceedings of the day started by light been thrown by YP Shovit on DDR. The discussion began with YP Bhavana explaining the house basic concepts of Financial Due Diligence (FDR). He distinguished FDR with Audit, Limited Review. The speaker was very confident in his session. He introduced the next speaker on the topic YP Mudit Shah. YP Mudit gave an impressive start to his session describing the FDR stage as a pre marriage enquiry stage. YP Mudit was followed by the next speaker YP Saket. YP Saket opened his heart out to the house. He pin pointed on various practical aspects of FDR. The house was awed by the degree of knowledge and practical exposure of YP Saket. YP Saket dealt with all the queries with ease and comfort.

The technical session was followed up by YP Harsha Kothari sharing her expertise on IAS 34- Interim Financial Reporting viz a viz AS 25. It was a very technical session and YP Harsha was thorough with her preparation. She was ready with practical examples and modalities of IAS-34. On being asked by the house to summarise the differences in Indian GAAP and IAS, YP Harsha pinpointed on the differences. The session was appreciated and applauded by the house. YP Rahul Chowdhary made particular mention of the fluency in the speech of YP Harsha and had praises for the effort.

This was followed by a surprise party for the lady YPians. The house celebrated International Women’s Day as a mark of respect to womanhood and presented each lady YP with a small memento and flowers. The YPs had arranged for a cake. Lady YPians were very elated and happy with the good gesture of the fellow YPians. The celebration of IWD was first of its kind for most of the YPians and the arrangement was applauded and appreciated by all present.


Two group discussions followed up the technical sessions. The house was quite impressed with the level of discussions in the GD and the efforts of YP Sharad Mundra, Ms Nidhi Bothra, YP Rahul Chowdhary, YP Bhavana Surana, YP Adarsh Nahata was specially appreciated.

The GD was followed by a quiz session by YP Nidhi Bothra. She divided the house in 4 teams and conducted a very interesting Quiz. The house was very impressed with the questions and the rounds.

The house was very vibrant and gave a lot of suggestions on the topics for the forthcoming weeks. Each YP was requested to do a follow up with the absent YP’s. The meeting ended on selection of the agenda of the next week.
